Our Investment Philosophy

Value-add apartment assets drives the investment philosophy at AXIS. Our team targets properties that are under-performing and implements our business plan to bring these assets back on track while producing superior returns for our investors.

FAQ

  • What is AXIS and how does it work?

AXIS is a private, real estate investment firm founded by Tyler Spaans and Adam Howerzyl. We help clients achieve superior returns through the acquisition of value-add mult-family assets in the Midwest. AXIS is financed by investors seeking a combination of strong cash flow and equity appreciation.

  • Who is eligible to invest with AXIS?

Currently, we are accepting investments from Accredited investors.

  • What tax documents should I expect to receive?

K-1s will be uploaded to your profile in the investor portal, where they are conveniently available for download. Our goal is to deliver K-1s on, or before, the deadline of 3/15 each year.

  • What am I investing in?

AXIS offers investors the opportunity to invest in single asset offerings as well as diversified funds which include apartment complexes in various locations mitigating risk.

  • How does the investor reporting work?

Investors have access to an online portal where they can review their investment details and relevant documents at their convenience. Investors will also receive quarterly financial reports along with annual update emails overviewing our performance targets.

  • Does any depreciation or losses get passed through to the investor?

Yes! We typically perform cost segregation studies on all of our assets, allowing investors to benefit from bonus and accelerated depreciation.

How to Invest

1. Speak with a Representative

To become an investor, you must first speak with one of our representatives to determine whether you are qualified. Potential investors must be accredited and the investment must be suitable for their specific level of risk tolerance, expectations and portfolio holdings.

Accredited investors have either a net worth of $1 million (excluding the value of their primary residence), net income of $200,000 for the last two years and the expectation of receiving the same income during the current year for single investors, or net income of $300,000 over the same time period for married investors.

Please contact our office at (712) 566-5186 and one of our representatives will answer any questions you may have about our firm. If there is a potential fit, the representative can add you to our investor portal.

2. Review Investment Offerings

Review the investment opportunities that are available and contact our team if you have questions. If you are ready to invest, our team will guide you through the investment process and submitting your funds.
